St. John's has an organization of Senior Citizens called the "OWLS," which stands for Organization of WELS Lutheran Seniors. The OWLS meet the second Monday of every month for devotion and fellowship. They offer their talents to serve our church and synod. Many of the members keep themselves busy pushing wheelchairs for the services at Linden Grove Nursing Home, volunteering their services at the Bargain Center and at Wisconsin Lutheran Child & Family Service. Social outings combined with mini-tours round out the group's activities. Everyone over the age of 55 is invited to join the OWLS. For more information, call Florence Mathiak at 262-251-5337 |
L.I.S.T. (Ladies in Service Together)
| What |
|
All adult ladies in our congregation are automatically considered members of this group, which meets several times during the year for business meetings, devotion and social interaction. The group is composed of many committees with opportunities for various talent and time commitments, such as Hands to Serve, Meals from the Heart, Altar, Lutheran Women's Missionary Society, etc. Further opportunities for women to serve in our church family would include wedding coordinators, decorating, etc. For more information, we encourage you to contact our church office at 262-251-2910 and we would gladly forward a booklet to you. |
