Admission Guidelines St. John's Lutheran School admits students of any race, color, national, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities at the school. Our school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs. Enrollment Policy St. John's Lutheran School primary purpose is the Christian training of the children whose parents are members of St. John's Lutheran Church. By the grace of God, a very enjoyable relationship has existed with our sister congregation, Faith Lutheran Church of Sussex, which supports three of our teachers. St. John's Lutheran School can serve as a mission arm of St. John's and Faith Lutheran churches when prospective parents are interested in joining one of the two churches. Applications for enrollment in St. John's Lutheran School are considered in the following order of preference according to the policy on class sizes:
To be considered for enrollment, any children whose parents are not members of either Faith or St. John's must apply for admission before August 1st of a new school year. Only children of members of St. John's and Faith congregations are accepted on a tuition-free basis since their parents are expected to support our Lutheran elementary school through their congregational offerings. All non-WELS parents must complete a Bible Information Class within one school year. (The length of this class is to be determined by the principal and pastor and reported to the Board of Education). Their children can be enrolled in our school on a tuition basis. Upon completion of the Bible Information Class, the parents must declare their intentions regarding church membership. Both St. John's and Faith would hope to gain as members all those who have no church or belong to a non-Trinitarian church. Children are then accepted tuition-free. If parents choose not to become members of St. John's or Faith, their children can remain enrolled on a tuition basis. All students will participate in all facets of our Christian education curriculum as established for their grade level. All tuition students are encouraged to attend St. John's or Faith whenever their class sings in church (including the Christmas Eve Service). |
